We are seeking a hands-on Purchasing Manager to lead international procurement for a WA-based business supplying workwear, PPE, and safety equipment to the mining and industrial sectors across Australia.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing supplier relationships, coordinating logistics, and maintaining inventory levels. You will also oversee a Purchasing Officer responsible for daily orders, ensuring smooth operations and reliable supply chains.

Based in Midvale, this position offers flexible working hours and plays a key role in providing accurate forecasting for the Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, ensuring timely and reliable deliveries.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments with freight forwarders and shipping providers.
  • Supervise and support a Purchasing Officer handling daily purchase orders.
  • Manage inventory levels using Netstock, forecast demand, and prevent stockouts or overstock.
  • Monitor landed costs, track trends, and report on supplier performance.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms as required to maintain cost-effective procurement.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (international sourcing desirable).
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills across cultures and time zones.
  • Knowledge of international logistics, import documentation, and compliance.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
  • Strong Excel and ERP skills; Netstock experience preferred.
  • Proactive problem solver with a practical, hands-on approach.
