We are currently seeking experienced Trades Assistants for a number of upcoming shutdowns, with the next shutdown scheduled from the 30th of June to the 8th of July.
Successful candidates will join a highly professional team of Boilermakers and Fitters, assisting with a range of TA duties on crushers and sizers. Ideally, you will have worked in a similar role and be familiar with the requirements of supporting engineering trades on-site.
To be considered, you must have a valid Rio Tinto induction, an updated Pegasus account, Fire Attack qualification, a Confined Space ticket, and a Working at Heights ticket. With shutdowns ranging from 5 to 10 days, high-performing Trades Assistants will be offered ongoing shutdown opportunities throughout the rest of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the fitters and welders as required in setup and cleanup.
- Strip, clean, and assess parts/components.
- General assembly of parts/mechanical.
- Basic use of hand/power tools as required.
- Fire watch.
- Housekeeping.
Key Requirements:
- Rio Tinto Inducted with Active Pegasus Account (essential).
- Confined Space & Working at Heights tickets (essential).
- Fire Attack firefighting ticket (essential).
- White Card (essential)
- Aveling Cards / Locker Holder (essential).
- Proven experience in a similar environment assisting trades.
