We are currently seeking an experienced and highly people-focused State Manager for a national earthmoving equipment rental and sales business to lead and drive strategic growth across the WA operations. This is a pivotal role for a business entering an exciting phase of expansion, with a strong focus on developing a collaborative team culture and doubling the business’s revenue over the next five years.
The successful candidate will oversee a team of 20 direct reports across sales and operations, including logistics, maintenance workshop, hire control and administration, and will report directly to head office in Melbourne. This role is highly influential in shaping team culture, implementing operational improvements, and ensuring the successful execution of the growth strategy, including the relocation to a new purpose-built facility in Forrestdale upon completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate change effectively while fostering a culture of collaboration, empathy, and team focus.
- Lead, motivate, recruit and develop a high-performing team whilst being highly visable and accessable to the team.
- Drive sales performance, operational efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and deliver measurable outcomes whilst identifying new business opportunities and develop strategic sales plans.
- Support the business in achieving ambitious growth targets while maintaining exceptional customer focus.
- Ensure that all OH&S and Environmental standards are operating at the highest level.
- Management of financials including P&L, budgets, margin forecasting and execute short and long-term planning.
Key Requirements:
- Previous history in branch or regional management role, ideally in equipment rental, heavy vehicle equipment or a related industry.
- Proven track record in sales management, operational leadership, and team development.
- Experience leading change, continuous improvement and executing growth strategies in medium-to-large organisations.
- Commercially minded, financial management exposure with a growth-focused approach and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- High energy, resilience, and a hands-on approach to leadership.
- Willingness to be hands-on, provide sales coaching, and assist in closing high-level negotiations.
