We are currently seeking an experienced Production Manager to join a privately owned business based in Canning Vale. The Production Manager will lead a team of eight full-time staff consisting of assemblers, second-class welders, and CNC machine operators.
The successful candidate will enjoy being hands-on while ensuring production is delivered on time, in full, and to specification. With a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and growth, this role will play a pivotal part in driving continuous improvement, developing team capability, and ensuring safe and effective production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the production team to manufacture and dispatch orders on time, in full, and to specification
- Collaborate with projects and operations to determine production priorities and schedules
- Allocate resources to meet production targets and deadlines
- Drive quality processes and investigate root cause of production issues
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct toolbox meetings and promote a strong safety-first culture
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve capability and performance
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience leading a manufacturing or production team
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Trade, engineering, or business qualifications highly regarded but not essential
- CNC or multi-process manufacturing experience advantageous
