We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to join a growing manufacturing business based in Canning Vale. Leading a team of Trade Assistants, Assemblers, Second-Class Welders and CNC Machine Operators, this is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes and driving workshop performance.
Working Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 4:00pm, this critical role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring production is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to make a real impact as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the workshop team to achieve daily production targets safely and efficiently
- Coordinate production activities to ensure orders are completed on time, in full and to specification
- Work closely with Operations and Projects teams to plan workloads and production schedules
- Allocate labour, equipment and resources to maximise workshop productivity
- Conduct toolbox meetings and promote a strong safety-first culture
- Coach, mentor and develop team members to improve capability and performance
- Monitor workshop performance and identify opportunities for operational improvements
Key Requirements
- Previous experience leading a manufacturing, fabrication or industrial workshop team
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate, coach and develop employees
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workshop operations
- Experience with production planning, scheduling and workflow management
- Proficient using ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience highly regarded
- Experience working with CNC machinery or multi-process manufacturing environments advantageous
